Hey Checkyourlogs fans,
Today I have commenced work on our newest book Deploying System Center Data Protection Manager featuring version 1801. As part of the book we are going to use once again, our BigDemo series of scripts to deploy the lab. I thought this time it would be fun to show off the script in action as I am building the environment necessary for the lab.
You can grab a copy of the scripts as I build them here:
I Installed 2 x Domain Controllers, SCVMM, SCOM, S2D Nested Nodes and a Base Server for the DPM Install. Everything in the lab has been configured except for DPM as we will show that off in the book.
I love the BIGDemo scripts because they completely hydrate my environment now in <2 Hours including the SQL Builds and base servers. The SCOM, SCVMM, DHCP, and extra Domain Controller will make great VM’s for me to install the DPM Agent on and the S2D Nodes can be used for my Host Based Backups.
I’m really looking forward to getting this book written as it is extremely relevant for many businesses today. For the book publishing we will be publishing content in flight on this book as it is ready on www.leanpub.com. So, stay tuned…. Here are a few more base screen shots from the lab I built out this morning…
Oh, did I forget to mention that I have been building these labs out on Azure using Nested Hyper-V… Well now you know!!
Here is the output of the execution from the script today:
PS F:\dcbuild_test> .\BigDemo_DPM.ps1
cmdlet BigDemo_DPM.ps1 at command pipeline position 1
